Karen Burgess, President: Brown Mackie College – Greenville

Karen Burgess is president of Brown Mackie College – Greenville. Prior to joining Brown Mackie College, Burgess served as President and Executive Director of the Metropolitan Career Center in Philadelphia.  In this role, Burgess was responsible for all functional areas of the Center, including development, fundraising, finance, operations, financial aid, and office administration.  Burgess’ professional experience also includes various leadership positions at DPT Business School and the Private Industry Council in Philadelphia. Burgess also served as a Commissioner with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology and as a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators.  She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
